Today we’re reviewing Come On Over, the upcoming single from Nashville-based singer-songwriter Kyle Elliott. Kyle is no stranger to us at Three Chords, having already been a part of our first Help From My Friends challenge, and having joined us last week for #whatmadeyoucountry.
This song opens with a kick, and Elliott’s voice is smooth and rich, the kind that makes you sit up and listen no matter where you are – at home on the sofa, at a party, or waiting in line somewhere. This is a voice with the kind of commanding presence that could fill an arena. The slick production is perfect for country radio, full of perfectly layered guitars and a strong beat. Of the single itself, Elliott notes that it ‘wrote itself’, and hopes it’s something everyone can relate to. Telling a story of wishing for a second chance, I think he’s hit the nail on the head.
Since early 2019, Elliott has been working on a string of singles including ‘Love Hangover’ and ‘Sunrise’, the latter of which was added to the Apple Hot Country Playlist. Elliott has also been involved in projects in the UK, including lead vocals on ‘My Hebridean Home’ which has been nominated for UK Country Song of the Year 2020.
