Seattle-based Abigail Neilson is due to release her next single, This Is Me Leaving, on 13th November 2020. The single will be available on all major platforms and accompanied by a music video starring Abigail herself.
Much like her previous release Left Unsaid, This Is Me Leaving is another celebration of independence. The song exemplifies the feeling of freedom and independence felt after letting go of a person who caused heartache. True to Neilson’s style, she calls back to contemporaries like Cassadee Pope as well as early 2000s Avril Lavigne with her own brand of emphatic triumph. The chorus is hard-hitting, as Neilson sings finally facing the feeling of letting go of you – a cathartic, singalong anthem.
The self-penned track features many of the musicians responsible for Left Unsaid, including brothers Gideon and Gabe Klein (Miranda Lambert, Delta Rae), Ellen Angelico (Cam, Lauren Jenkins) and Grant Mickelson (Taylor Swift, Kenny Chesney).
