Faroese-Canadian artist Lena Anderssen is set to release her new single, Aimee, via Songcrafter Music on 6th November. Aimee is the second single from Anderssen’s forthcoming sixth album, due in March 2021.
Aimee is an upbeat, almost euphoric throwback to some of Fleetwood Mac’s classics. Anderssen has a unique, light and lilting vocal style which lends itself tremendously to her brand of Americana-rock, and the song itself – although written and recorded back in 2018 – feels somewhat timely. She’s waiting for the world to be safe again, sings Anderssen of the song’s protagonist. It’s a song about limbo, something we can all relate to in 2020. The airy harmonies and rich guitars make this a perfect autumn-winter transition anthem.
Anderssen’s forthcoming album, State Of The Land, was recorded with legendary English recording engineer Geoff Emerick, known for his pioneering work with The Beatles on albums including Abbey Road. It was recorded in spring 2018 and is the last full album Emerick worked on before his death.
