Country music songwriter supergroup Nashvillains have released their second single, Who Don’t. Made up of accomplished songwriters and producers Brett Boyett, Troy Johnson, and Scott Lindsey, the band launched earlier in 2021 with the single Tumbling Down. Collectively, the trio has written for films, TV, and major artists including The Chicks, Keith Urban, Cassadee Pope, James Taylor, Lauren Alaina, Drake Bell, Kevin Costner, and more.
Fans of country music, as well as pop, R&B, and rock, the trio has generated quite a buzz with their first two singles. Who Don’t is upbeat and melodic, and it sits firmly on the country-rock side of the fence. Traditional instrumentation blends seamlessly with creative modern programming to cultivate a fresh musical landscape by blurring lines between genres and bending the rules of convention. Despite the influx of rock- and pop-influenced country music in today’s charts, Nashvillains have nonetheless managed to buck the trend and bring a brand new sound to country music. Singing about enjoying life and embracing all it has to offer, the vocal performances are strong and perfectly balanced with rich tones and lush harmonies to add depth alongside the picked banjo. The song conjures images of backyard barbecues and endless blue skies with just enough roughness around the edges – naturally, that’ll come from the bourbon in your glass.
