Ahead of releasing a full-length album later this month, Canadian trio Petric has today released Kids, an anthemic country-pop single sure to be a hit with mainstream country radio.
Kids is undeniably country-pop. It’s full of crafty guitar licks, catchy melodies and dynamic vocals. The story is one of nostalgia, and the throwback lyrics take the listener back to the days of first cars and first loves. It’s upbeat and energetic and sounds like summertime – it feels warm and beachy, a welcome change of pace in this colder weather. The band describes the song as a self-portrait, something showing the best they have to offer – and it’s certainly their best yet.
Petric formed in 2015 and was discovered by JUNO Award winner Dallas Smith while showcasing at Country Music Week. Since then, Manitoba brothers Jason and Tom Petric and longtime friend Jordan Day have racked up over twelve million streams, 315K+ views on YouTube, three Top 20 singles on Canadian Country radio, eight Manitoba Country Music Awards and have also been nominated Best New Artist at Country Music Week.
