It’s time for another installment of country dudes! This is the second installment, and much like the first one – and the female counterparts – this playlist is full of male-presenting artists I’ve never listened to before. These playlists are so much fun to make, because I get to dive in to your recommendations and have fun with algorithms on Spotify, iTunes and YouTube to find some awesome music. Let me tell you, there are some absolutely fantastic songs in this one.

My first highlight this week is Different Shade Of Blue. I fell in love with this song immediately – it sounds so classic, from the instrumentation to the vocal delivery. It has this uncanny ability to take me back to days gone by – days I never even experienced. Aside from the shades of blue (sorry, not sorry) there are also shades of Van Morrison in here, and I absolutely love it.

My next highlight – and I know I’ve talked about this one elsewhere already – is Me, My Old Man and Steely Dan. This came to me via Spotify’s recommendations and I loved it immediately. A former contestant on The Voice, Andrew Sevener has such an emotive voice and this song is a beautiful, stirring tribute to his father.

Hits A Little Different does exactly what it says on the tin, and that’s why it’s my third and final highlight for the week. Triston Marez has been a recent discovery for many of us, I think – but this song in particular caught my ears. There are a lot of comparisons to be made to both the bros and the neo-traditional artists on today’s charts, but something about this song still manages to sound fresh and unique, despite borrowing heavily from both styles.
