Weekly Playlist #68: very country christmas pt3

Parts one and two happened in 2020. We’ve had almost an entire 2021 since then – so it’s definitely time for part three.

Yes, a few false starts later and the weekly playlist is back! ‘Tis the season, after all.

This week’s sparkle highlights are:

  1. Ragin’ Cajun Redneck Christmas – oh, I love this song! It’s everything I love: a good honky-tonk guitar, a hoedown beat and some harmonica to boot. I’m always fascinated by others’ holiday traditions, and coming from a northwestern European nation where we typically have cold and frosty holidays, the concept of a warm summery Christmas is absolutely wild to me. I love it!
  2. Shimmy Down The Chimney – because Alison Krauss can do no wrong. That voice just soothes my soul in the very best way. This is warm and a little jazzy and it fills me with all the fuzzies of the season.
  3. Jolly Ol’ Redneck – it was tough to narrow this one down, but Madeline Merlo takes it. I just love the idea that Santa is a big ol’ country boy!
